Laura began her journey in birth work in 2008 as a doula after the birth of her fourth child in Phoenix, Arizona; she received her Birth Doula certification in 2010 through Doulas Of North American (DONA). In 2013, Laura embarked on the path of midwifery through the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM)’s PEP process, successfully completing it in November 2015. With this achievement, she attained the title of Certified Professional Midwife and obtained licensure in the state of Arizona. Since then, Laura has operated her private practice, Supporting Your Birth. She has also contributed her expertise as the Treasurer for the Arizona Association of Midwives and dedicates her time as a volunteer at Maggie’s Place.
Laura and her husband, John, have been residents of Phoenix since 2002, and their four children are now grown. They share a passion for worldwide travel and enjoy experiencing different cultures. While she is a Jesus follower, she is excited to work with and learn from all people, regardless of their spiritual beliefs. Laura, in addition to her work in birth support, serves as a fitness trainer for VASA Fitness, instructing classes such as Mixxedfit, Aqua Fitness, HIIT, and cycling. Her interests extend to promoting awareness about pregnancy and birth, spending time with her family, offering a supportive ear for friends, and building a collection of Squishmallows.
